Priority One: Health

I needed a very healthy diet that takes care of my body in the long term and keeps me healthy and living my best life for a long time.

Priority Two: Fitness

I workout and push my body quite often so I need to replenish my body with all the nutrients and resources it needs.

Priority Three: Peak Performance

I do knowledge work, so I need to keep my brain working so I can keep the lights on and keep doing what I love.

Given these priorities, I jumped back and forth between vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian and Mediterranean. And found that the Mediterranean has the most nutrients and benefits and also the least restrictive.

And lastly, I need to maintain this diet for a long time, so it needs to be realistic and maintainable. This means it can’t be too restrictive, it’s gotta have some fun meals.

I think the only cheat meal thing this diet has is once a week, I can indulge in red meat. Instead of candy, I will have fruit snacks. But most other times, it’s just healthy meals and snacks.
